Does that make sense? Oh and thank you very much for your support, I had no idea you were into the 10th Planet system, even tho we are having a bit of a debate here, I do appreciate all your support Sorry, I meant a rolling back take not necessarily the "Twister Roll." Regardless I only posted because my coach was catching alot of heat from the top down that I still think is unfounded. The way he is teaching it is "correct" against people that don't know the intricacies of the twister roll and the truck, I used to set it up like that all thru the 90's and into the 2000's but I don't anymore because there are way to many twister roll experts around these days. Second I never said his twister roll from side control was incorrect, I said if he tried to set it up like that from side control against a twister expert he would get it flipped on him.

He even demonstrates it, albeit saying he doesn't prefer it "for him." All of this nonsense over a 5 minute "sample" clip of a DVD set that's 5 hours long.įirst of all, he didn't do the twister roll against Hermes, he got to the truck, "briefly", off a failed waiter sweep, he never had Hermes in side control, GIANT difference.

He goes over "locking down" the leg as well.
#EDDIE BRAVO TWISTER ROLL HOW TO#
I think he could LEARN a lot about the setup and how to improve it from him, though.Has anyone here even watched Ryan's new DVD? Jesus. To Andrew, I don't think he should give credit to Eddie if he didn't learn the roll to the back from him. What I do know is, doing it the way Ryan does it leaves openings, and he could learn to work it better if he would take the time to control the opponent a bit more. I'm not questioning Eddie's or Ryan's or Denny's abilities: Not my place to, they are all awesome.
#EDDIE BRAVO TWISTER ROLL FULL#
Obviously gaining full control of the leg with both of yours and wrapping the other leg up with your arms to prevent your back from being taken is better than the Twister Roll/the way Ryan teaches it. That is obvious who studies the technique for more than an hour. I don't know much about the whole situation, but I do know Ryan doesn't do it as well as Eddie. Does that make sense? Oh and thank you very much for your support, I had no idea you were into the 10th Planet system, even tho we are having a bit of a debate here, I do appreciate all your support Question - at the level of ADCC and NoGi Worlds what do you guys (would like to hear Eddies answer as well) feel is a higher percentage finish, the "Truck" or Taking the Back.First of all, he didn't do the twister roll against Hermes, he got to the truck, "briefly", off a failed waiter sweep, he never had Hermes in side control, GIANT difference. My bigger point was Ryan is already hitting at the highest level of competitions, and 10 feet in front of you on Hermes Franca but you still claim that his technique isn't correct, yet none of the 10th Planet "experts" are hitting it at the highest levels.

This was one samll piece of my post, and as I said earlier I took a private from Rafael Mendes 6 months ago in NJ and he taught me this roll from side control and half guard and they barely even speak english. Ryan was nothing but cool and never said one negative word about you or 10th Planet. In fact I was frustarted 1.5 years ago at my traditional academy and e-mailed Ryan about his new school and told him I was a big fan of 10th Planet, and after a month at his school I even invited him to your seminar on the east coast (looking back I feel like a retard). I got hooked on BJJ via your books and videos, read them like the Bible and still have them in my collection and reference from time to time. I am very familiar with the history of the Twister, Twister roll, your use in comp, and the Ninja back take.
